President Donald Trump got into hot water today after claiming that the recent GOP tax cuts only minimally help him out financially.
The claim came in the form of a mid-afternoon tweet:
“The ‘tax cut’ we just passed goes so much to the middle class. Trust me, I’m barely getting anything back. Like that teacher who talked to @PRyan, I’m only getting an extra $1.50. MAGA!”
The tweet immediately went viral, with most commentators remarking in how patently false that claim seemed. Trump then went on in a tweet storm to insult a pack of girl scouts for criticizing him.
