- These Epstein revelations constantly dripping away Trump’s MAGA support are just, finally, karmically lovely, aren’t they? It’s going to be a very calm, civil Thanksgiving this year because your MAGA uncles and cousins all of a sudden will be shrugging of the Epstein bombshells, claiming they haven’t been paying attention to the news lately, and saying “all politicians are the same.”
- This Epstein mess must be a shock for the millions of Trump fans who bought into the deranged QAnon conspiracies and related narratives pushed by everyone from Don Jr. to Mike Flynn to Kash Patel to Pam Bondi about Trump being a governmental savior who would finally release the Epstein Files and arrest all the elite pedophiles. They’re now learning that it was sociopathic projection because Trump himself all along has been the chief pedophile cabal defender. It’s a classic Roy Cohn kind of tactic that Trump has gotten so good at: accuse everyone else of your own crimes so it doesn’t seem as bad when you’re inevitably caught.
- I feel bad for all the MAGA bros who film Facebook videos of themselves sitting in their trucks ranting about politics. Their productions have gone dark as they’ve realized, beyond Epstein, Trump hasn’t ended the war in Ukraine on day one, inflation and cost-of-living are still rising, he’s offering Chinese college students 600,000 education visas, he’s extending the H-1B program and recently insulted America claiming there isn’t enough domestic talent to fill a lot of tech jobs, and his solution for the housing crisis is to propose a ludicrous 50-year mortgage plan that would allow people to buy one house for the price of three and essentially rent their houses for their entire lives WHILE being on the hook for maintenance. They’re not feeling the MAGA greatness they were promised!
- It’s an unfortunate but vital reality of democracy that we shouldn’t be too unforgiving to the duped MAGA voters because Democrats need at least some of their votes to win big enough to drain Trump’s authoritarian pedophile swamp. They meant well — ridding the government of pedophiles is a fine cause — they’re just morons whose belligerent ignorance led them to fall hook, line, and sinker for the biggest, most blatant con man in American history despite a full decade of us trying to warn them. We should try to remember to be at least a little sympathetic over the next year as they struggle to deal with the collapse of their world view and suffer a little bit of ego death.
- I’m stockpiling up on popcorn for these midterm Republican primary debates where incumbents are gonna squirm on stage on live television over why they helped Trump cover for rapist pedophiles including Trump for so long. Fingers crossed that the MAGA movement collapses, and Trump’s voters all stay home demoralized and checked out of politics, and Democrats win back both chambers of Congress to hold this truly insane administration accountable.
- I’m sick of Trump constantly saying he inherited a mess, and journalists not correcting him that he inherited a much stronger, healthier nation than the one he left for Joe Biden in 2021 when COVID was everywhere, the economy was a wreck, the American people were the most divided since the Vietnam War, and our foreign policy needed straightening out after four years of Trump shitting on our allies, antagonizing our trade partners, and inexplicably sucking up to dictators.
- Trump’s granddaughter Kai Trump finished in last place out of 108 golfers in her recent tournament after getting a sponsor’s exemption to play despite not being qualified on her own. DEI, am I right?! Unqualified nepo baby alert! I don’t actually care at all about golf or her somewhat embarrassing participation in the tournament, but I think it’s valid to point out the hypocrisy that Kai is 18 years old, a legal adult, and Trump fans online are clutching their pearls that people would insult someone so young while they’re currently downplaying Trump’s ubiquitous allegations of raping Epstein’s teenagers several years younger than that.
- My favorite details (so far) from the latest batch of Epstein emails is where Epstein wrote [spelling errors his], “have them ask my houseman about donad almost walking through the door leaving his nose print on the glass as young women were swimming in the pool and he was so focused he walked straight into the door.” Trump is a cartoonishly depraved person.
- Epstein also wrote that he never met anyone “as bad as Trump,” and that Trump has “not one decent cell in his body.” There’s also an email from one of Epstein’s victims who writes, “I don’t want to come early to find Trump in your house.” Can someone in the media please ask Trump why he thinks she wrote that?! Is it because Trump was often in Epstein’s house? Was it because he was so rapey? Why the hell are all of these hints and allegations of Trump just being a giant monster not being explored all day long on the mainstream news?
- A big takeaway from this Epstein mess is that, for at least two decades, Epstein’s crimes and his global sex trafficking ring have not been adequately investigated or reported on by the media, let alone the police and FBI, even as Epstein’s connections to the POTUS and many people in both of his administrations are alarmingly deep. It’s hard not to come to the conclusion that major media executives have been personally involved in the sex-trafficking and cover up, and I will be very pleased if the disclosure of Epstein’s client list results in many bigwigs at The New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, ABC, NBC, Fox News, and/or other legacy institutions having to resign in shame. The media has so utterly failed the nation and our democracy throughout this Trump era sanitizing his norm destroying and democracy dismantling, and these companies need high-level house cleaning and new company cultures even if their weak ass coverage of Trump and Epstein’s depravities aren’t directly related to personal complicity.
- I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that Trump is definitely not going to be getting a Nobel Peace Prize now, and Republicans should quietly withdraw their nominations of him.
- Megyn Kelly, who has a 14-year-old daughter and built her post-Fox News career on suing Roger Ailes for sexual harassment, has chosen to go the whole “actually-Epstein-had-ephebophilia-not-pedophilia-so-it’s-not-that-bad” route. Weird hill to die on, Megyn! 🥃
