Washington D.C.—
In an amusing show of paradoxical reasoning, President Donald Trump’s allies in Washington have urged the President to be vigilant against the possibility that his long-time personal lawyer Michael Cohen will flip and cooperate with the FBI in order to save himself a decade or two of prison time.
It’s amusing because these allies also swear every day publicly that Mr. Trump is innocent of all wrongdoing, and that all of his alleged crimes are made up hoaxes in a witch hunt.
So does Cohen have enough incriminating evidence against Mr. Trump that the President should avoid talking to Cohen in case he is wearing an FBI wire, or is Trump innocent? Both can’t be true.
It’s a real head-scratcher.
