Washington D.C.—
Former Trump adviser Steve Bannon has seen his political star fade dramatically this week as past comments Mr. Bannon has made about the Trump family have surfaced in a new controversial book depicting the Trump Administration’s early days.
Bannon’s comments include name calling, allegations of Trump family treason, and suspicion that Donald Trump Jr. will “crack like an egg” over his Trump Tower meeting with Russian operatives.
Mr. Trump has unsurprisingly struck back, as he seems to always do, and the White House has formally added Mr. Bannon to the official list of Trump Administration coffee boys.
Bannon’s addition to the coffee boy list places him the company of Carter Page, George Papadopoulos, Jared Kushner, Donald Trump Jr., Anthony Scaramucci, Reince Priebus, and Sean Spicer.
Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders downplayed Mr. Bannon’s role as senior adviser to the President in a press conference this morning.
“This…Stephen Bannon was it? Was that his name? He must have been a real low-level adviser because if he really was a big deal, surely I would know who he is. I can’t seem to recall anyone by that name, but of course I don’t have the time to meet and become personally acquainted with each and every coffee boy in the White House. Obviously this administration is very hard at work and we stay up all day and night working for the American people, so we have numerous coffee boys coming and going with various caffeinated beverages, and I can’t say for sure that I ever met this particular coffee boy. That’s all I can say about this Mr. Bannon fellow.”
